Terms of use

Last updated: 17 September 2026 · Version 1.0

These terms explain how you can use this website and what you need to know while RentFairly is being developed. This is a short pre-launch site, and there is currently nothing to buy. Our privacy notice explains what personal information is collected when you visit the site or join the early-access list, and how it is used. If anything here is unclear, email us and we'll be happy to explain it.

Who runs this site

RentFairly is a trading name of Rand Irons. His trading address is Bowden House, 36 Northampton Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 9HE. Rent Fairly Ltd is being set up. When that happens, we'll update this page with the company's registered details. Our privacy notice explains what this means for your personal information.

If you have a question about these terms or the website, email us at enquiries@rentfairly.co.uk.

What this site is today

RentFairly is still being built. The only thing you can currently do on the site is join the early-access list so that we can tell you when early access opens. Our privacy notice explains what personal information is collected when you visit the site or join the list, and how it is used. Nothing is currently for sale, and joining the early-access list does not commit you to buying anything. We currently expect the rent review report to cost £5 as a one-off payment when it launches. Separate terms of sale will be shown before you make any payment.

This is not legal advice

The information on this site is general information about renting and the planned RentFairly service. It is not legal advice. We are not a law firm, we do not act for you, and we have not reviewed your tenancy, documents or personal circumstances. Reading or using the site does not make you our client. For advice about your own situation, you can contact Shelter (opens in a new tab), Citizens Advice (opens in a new tab) or a solicitor.

Where this applies

This site is written for renters in England. Renting rules are different in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, so the information on this site may not apply if you rent outside England.

Your email address

Our privacy notice explains what happens to your personal information. We use your email address to let you know when early access opens. If you also tick the optional box to receive occasional updates, we'll send those until you unsubscribe. Our emails include an unsubscribe link. We do not sell your email address or pass it to landlords or letting agents. Please only enter your own email address.

Our content and brand

The content and design of this site, including the RentFairly logo, are owned by us or used with permission. Please do not copy or sell a substantial part of the site, present our content as your own, or use the RentFairly name or logo in a way that suggests we are connected with or endorse you. You are welcome to link to the site and print a copy for your own use.

Using the site fairly

Please do not:

  • try to break into, damage or overload the site
  • copy or collect large amounts of information in a way that disrupts the site
  • use the site to break the law
  • present anything from this site as legal advice, or as advice about someone's particular situation

The site will change

This is a free pre-launch site for a service that is still being developed. We may update or correct the site, remove pages or take the site offline without telling you first. We cannot promise that it will always be available or that everything on it will always be up to date. The site also links to organisations such as Shelter and Citizens Advice. We do not control their websites, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.

If something goes wrong

We take reasonable care over what we publish. If we fail to take that care, we are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage, but not for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. We aim to keep the information on this site clear and up to date. As RentFairly is still being developed, its content and features may change. The information on this site should not replace advice based on your own tenancy, documents and circumstances.

Your legal rights

These terms do not remove any rights or protections the law gives you. We do not exclude or limit our responsibility for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • anything else that the law of England and Wales does not allow us to exclude or limit

Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If you want to complain

Email us at enquiries@rentfairly.co.uk and tell us what has happened. We'll look into it and respond as soon as reasonably possible. If your complaint concerns how we have handled your personal information, our privacy notice explains how to contact us and how you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Which law applies

The laws of England and Wales apply to these terms. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can make a legal claim in the courts where you live or in the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the website develops into the full RentFairly service. Every version is numbered and dated, so you can tell which one you are reading. If we make an important change, we'll explain it on this page.

If you need anything else, email us at enquiries@rentfairly.co.uk.
